Ingredients
- Elbow Macaroni
- Cheddar Cheese
- Milk
- Butter

Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In the same pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, sprinkle the flour over the butter and whisk to combine, cooking for about 1-2 minutes.
- Gradually pour in the milk while whisking constantly to avoid lumps. Continue to cook until the mixture thickens, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add in the cheddar cheese and nutmeg, stirring until the cheese is melted and the sauce is creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Fold in the cooked macaroni until well coated in the cheese sauce. If desired, transfer the mixture into a baking dish and sprinkle more cheese on top before broiling for a few minutes until golden.
