Description
Cool off with this easy watermelon sorbet, a delicious summer treat made from fresh watermelon!
Ingredients
- Ripe Watermelon: The star of the sorbet! Use seedless watermelon for ease and a naturally sweet base.
- Sugar: Adds sweetness to the sorbet. Adjust based on the sweetness of your watermelon.
- Lime Juice: A splash of lime juice enhances the watermelon flavor and adds a zesty kick.
- Water: Used to blend the mixture until smooth. Try to keep it minimal to retain the sorbet’s texture.
Instructions
- Begin by cutting the watermelon into chunks and removing any seeds. Place the watermelon chunks in a blender or food processor.
- Add the sugar, lime juice, and a little bit of water to the blender. Blend until smooth, pulsing as necessary to get rid of any chunks.
- Taste the mixture and adjust the sweetness by adding more sugar if desired.
- Pour the mixture into a shallow dish or a loaf pan, making sure to spread it evenly.
- Cover the dish with plastic wrap and freeze for about 4 hours or until solid.
- Once frozen, use a fork to scrape the top layer to create a fluffy texture before serving.
Notes
- Choose a ripe watermelon for the best flavor.
- Adjust sugar based on the sweetness of your watermelon.
- Can be stored for up to a week in the freezer.
