Description
Delight your guests with a delicious Pineapple Glazed Ham! This dish combines sweet and savory flavors for a perfect centerpiece at your next gathering.
Ingredients
- Bone-In Ham: Choose a fully-cooked bone-in ham for the best flavor and texture.
- Pineapple Juice: This sweet juice forms the base of the glaze. Use 100% juice for the best taste.
- Brown Sugar: Adds sweetness and helps create a caramelized top.
- Honey: Enhances the sweet flavor of the glaze and adds depth.
- Mustard: A touch of mustard balances the sweetness with a bit of tang.
- Pineapple Rings (optional): For decoration and additional sweetness.
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C). Prepare a roasting pan by lightly greasing it with cooking spray.
- In a medium bowl, combine pineapple juice, brown sugar, honey, and mustard to create the glaze.
- Place the ham in the prepared roasting pan and score the surface in a diamond pattern. Brush half of the glaze on the ham’s surface.
- Bake the ham in the preheated oven for 1-1.5 hours, basting with glaze every 20 minutes until heated through, and the internal temperature reaches 140°F (60°C).
- If using, top the ham with pineapple rings for the last 30 minutes of baking.
- Once finished, remove from the oven and let it rest for 15-20 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Use a Meat Thermometer: Ensure the ham is cooked to the proper internal temperature for safety and optimal taste.
- Garnish with Fresh Herbs: Adding fresh herbs like rosemary or thyme can elevate the presentation and flavor of the dish.
- Adjust Sweetness: Feel free to adjust the amount of brown sugar and honey in the glaze to suit your personal taste.
