Ingredients
- Baguette or Italian Bread
- Ground Beef
- Onion
- Gouda and Cheddar Cheese
- Garlic Powder
- Salt and Pepper
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned and fully cooked. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Add diced onions (and bell peppers, if using) to the skillet; sauté until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in garlic powder, salt, and pepper; remove from heat.
- Slice the baguette in half lengthwise and place on the prepared baking sheet, cut side up.
- Layer the beef mixture evenly onto the bread, then top with gouda and cheddar cheeses.
- Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the bread is slightly toasted.
- Remove from the oven, allow to cool for a few minutes, slice, and serve warm!
