Satisfy your sweet tooth with these irresistible French Silk Brownies, a perfect blend of fudgy chocolate brownies topped with a silky mousse for the ultimate treat.

Ingredients

  • Granulated Sugar: Sweetens the brownie base and the mousse topping to perfection.
  • Cocoa Powder: Deep chocolate flavor that enhances the brownie’s richness.
  • Butter: Adds moisture and creates a fudgy texture for the brownies.
  • Eggs: Provide structure and gooeyness to the brownies.
  • Vanilla Extract: A must for flavoring; it enhances all the other ingredients.
  • Semisweet Chocolate: The star of the french silk mousse, making it decadent.
  • Heavy Cream: Gives the mousse its creamy texture.
  • Powdered Sugar: For sweetness and a light texture in the mousse.

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×9 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium-sized bowl, melt the butter and stir in sugar, cocoa powder, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  3. Add in the eggs one at a time, mixing until fully incorporated after each addition.
  4. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top using a spatula.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  6. Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan before removing them.
  7. To prepare the mousse, melt the semisweet chocolate in a double boiler or microwave, then let it cool slightly.
  8. In a separate bowl, beat the heavy cream and powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
  9. Fold the cooled chocolate into the whipped cream gently until well combined.
  10. Spoon the chocolate mousse over the cooled brownies and spread evenly. Chill in the refrigerator for 2 hours before serving.

Notes

  • Allow the mixture to cool before folding into the whipped cream for the mousse.
  • Using room temperature eggs in the brownie mix helps create a better texture.
  • Feel free to decorate with shaved chocolate or berries for garnish.
